Kent access permit is also known as ‘check an HGV’ checks if an HGV is border ready. This proves that an HGV has the right EU import and commodity documentation for goods before it carries goods across the GB/EU border.
There will be a £300 fine for not having a Kent access permit while using the port of dover or Eurotunnel, for carrying goods across the border. This will be the same if you provide a fraudulent declaration. Goods vehicles will also not be allowed to enter Calais and heading to UK. Possibility that the vehicle could be impounded for this also.
This service should be fully operational in December 2020. An update will be provided when applicable.
